Welcome Clavo! Clavo!: A Construction Spanish Learning Community
The purpose of this site is for professionals in the construction industry to come together to learn Spanish
terminology and phrases in the context of a construction site. While the backbone of the community is a searchable dictionary, there are also instructional videos and discussion forums. Most of the content here is based on terminology as used on construction sites in the southern United States. Sue to the nature of construction site vernacular, there is a lot of slang terminology. Our intent is to be the most accurate with what is actually used on sites, not to relay the most proper Spanish. While your Spanish 101 professor may cringe at the "Spanglish" terms, we welcome and even encourage slang terminology as long as it is what is actually commonly used.
Users are invited to edit and add additional content as it varies from region to region, fill in gaps where they exist, and request additional information.
Look around and explore the content of Clavo! Clavo! and please comment as to what else you would like to see. To begin, watch the video below and see if you can come up with English translations for the Spanish terminology demonstrated in the video.
